Wondering how to boost your immunity? Simple! Switch to the unusual solutions that Ayurveda presents!

Ayurveda & Immunity

This classical medical science had said long ago that plant extracts could do a lot to strengthen the body. According to Ayurveda, our body can face infections only when all the seven layers of our body’s tissues (Rasa, Mamsa, Rakta, Medha, Majja, Asthi and Shukra) are powerful. When the seven layers are running together, our immunity will be increased.

A low immune function can be due to emotional stress, sleep deprivation, vitamin lacks, lack of physical activity, overexposure to dangerous ultraviolet (UV) sunrays, excessive use of antibiotics, exposure to environmental toxins, weak dietary habits and poor hygiene. Boosting the immune system is likely through lifestyle changes and some manageable home remedies, as suggested by Ayurveda.

Here are a few herbs that will help your body stay stronger

 Honey

Honey works as a natural antioxidant, antibacterial and antimicrobial agent. It can help defend the body against viruses, fungi and bacteria. It enhances the digestive system, helps relieve sore throat, controls blood sugar, and heals cough and cold.

 Neem

Since time ancient, neem has been appreciated and universally used as an immunity booster. It completely keeps the body safe from attacks by deadly pathogens, thanks to its anti-viral, antibacterial and anti-fungal qualities. Neem can also keep your blood clean. It cleans the blood by cleaning away toxins, and this can increase immunity.

 Tulsi

Tulsi is another miracle herb that Ayurveda much prefers. Tulsi or basil is a strong antiseptic. It can effectively discover germs, viruses, and bacteria when they invade your body and stop them.  Chew a few leaves first in the morning. You can also add a few droplets of water cooked with tulsi leaves into your meals.

 Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha is an adaptogen, which means it can lessen stress levels. Stress reduces your immune response and creates the body vulnerable to viral infections.

 Triphala

Triphala carries the antioxidative characteristics of three fruits- haritaki, bibhitaki and amla. It is rich in Vitamin C and Vitamin A- both of which increase your immunity. Begin your day with Triphala.

 Ginger

Ginger has been an age-old remedy for flu and the general cold.  It includes gingerol – an antioxidant that can power up our immune system and destroy viruses. Ginger is especially good at preventing respiratory tract infections. Combine ginger to your food, or you can also have it raw. Drink ginger tea twice a day to develop your immunity.

 Garlic

Garlic battles against bacterial and viral germs and anti-inflammatory activity. It has a protecting action against heart disorders and high-level cholesterol. A small piece of garlic can be attached daily to your diet to increase your immunity and maintain excellent health condition. It includes allicin- a plant compound that acts as an antiseptic. But remember, to make the most of garlic, absorb it raw or partly cooked.

 Turmeric

Turmeric holds antioxidants that are essential for the immune system. Traditionally it has been used as a medicine. Turmeric carries Vitamin B6 and various minerals such as potassium, manganese and iron. It performs a vital role in the functioning of separate organ systems.  Warm milk mixed with 1 tsp of turmeric should be added to your everyday meals to boost immunity.

 Lemon

Lemon includes vitamin C. It plays a vital role in boosting immunity. It supports the white blood cells to work properly so that they can respond immediately to infections. It assists in removing toxins from the body. It also helps to control your body weight. Drinking lemon water along with honey as a sweetener is a good habit. It is a tasty and healthful drink.

 Green Tea

Drinking green tea increases immunity. Certain composites in green tea aid increase “regulatory T cells” in the body. These cells perform a key role in immune function. The antioxidants in green tea protect the body from suffering. 2 to 3 cups of green tea regularly are suggested daily for good results.

The things you need to increase your immunity are all indoors. Utilize these herbs and stay home to defeat coronavirus!
